I'm a software engineer at Topstep. I joined when Topstep acquired The Futures Desk, a trading platform I built with one other engineer. On my own I have designed and shipped seven more products for iOS, Android and the web.

The Futures Desk

A futures trading firm, and the platform its traders work in.

Traders pass an evaluation, then trade the firm's capital. I did most of the design and the frontend: the trader dashboard, the trade journal and daily planner, the reports, the coaching tools and the sign-up flow. After launch I owned my features end to end, from the schema and the API to the production release.

A field guide for the seeds you save.

Scan a seed packet, plan your beds by frost date, ask the AI what each growth stage needs, and log every harvest. One Expo codebase for iOS and Android, a Fastify API on Postgres, an admin dashboard, and subscriptions through RevenueCat.

Know who is certified today, not who was last spring.

Certification tracking for small crews: every person and every card on one grid, a reminder before anything runs out, and audit exports on demand. A React app, a Fastify API on Postgres, an Astro marketing site and Playwright tests across all of it.

BCP Flow

A continuity plan the IT provider and the client write together.

The provider answers the technical sections, the client fills in the rest through an emailed link, and the finished plan exports to PDF or Word. React on Supabase, with row-level security in Postgres, edge functions for email, and billing through Lemon Squeezy.

About

I'm Brandon Ore. I have been building production software since 2019: first for clients, then as a founding engineer at The Futures Desk, and now at Topstep.

I design the screens and build everything behind them: the app, the API, the database and the billing. Most of my work has been solo or on a two-engineer team, so I am used to owning a feature from the first sketch to the release, and to fixing it when it breaks. That includes the parts nobody sees: payments, app store review, privacy rules and tests.
